  1. As a former sugarholic I a really appreciated the little speech by Jack Lalanne. 96. He must have been doing something right. I look forward to tomorrow’s workout in his honor.

I was saying to Jon tonight that it is such a thrill to see progress in my workouts. Small things but still. I honestly never believed I would be able to do pullups without a black band. Ever. Then all of a sudden one day, you just can. The weight you can lift gets higher and higher, the pace you go gets faster and faster. What an unexpected delight to discover you can do what you never even dreamed a possibility. Jon was saying the great thing about crossfit is you never stop making that progress. Even years later your body continues to change and adapt and become stronger. That is soooooooooo amazing!
Thank you all for bearing with me while I had my “aha moment” this evening. Many of you have been here before me and many will become enlightened as to the miracles of crossfit in the future. I’m just so glad I am doing this.

Now GIVE me my crown Sarah!
    🙂 Just kidding.

  2. I love this article. Let me say that I don’t agree with her philosophy of not going strict for 30 days.

I have had to approach this challenge in the last couple of weeks from a place of “getting stronger” not “losing weight”. It’s just a silly mind trick, but it makes me want to do good things for myself, eat well, sleep well instead of beating myself up for taking a point off for some cream…then letting the whole challenge slide into a mess of chocolate ganache.

For whatever reason, me focusing on a number on the scale, then not seeing that number move induces a lot of fear/guilt based feelings. Probably a person who’s has dieted there whole life would understand that.
She sums it up really well.

  3. Hey Mama, I was so impressed with those pullups yesterday! Your progress is amazing! You got that fire…the kind that turns dreams into reality 🙂

Liz, as a lifetimer myself it makes total sense! Thanks for the article!

AND…. Good luck today guys!!! Wish I could be there to cheer ya on!
