Key Points 
 We naturally seek sweet salty or fatty foods. In nature these things are nutritionally beneficial and can provide satisfaction physically and emotionally. Our brains reward centers have a response that is healthy and reasonable.

Manufactured foods have an unnatural amount of sugar, salt and fat-often in combination, something not seen in nature. (Can you name a food that contains a lot of sweetness and fat?) 

Our brains reward center is hyper stimulated when we eat these man made foods and craving for these foods is sent into overload. 

The anticipation of eating, and the immediate pleasure from eating these foods is a potent drug and can lead to a diet that consists of mostly “comfort foods.” 

This leads to a legion of emotional and physical health issues and 99% of the time leads to being overweight or obese.

Unlike drugs that work the same way, (hyper stimulate our brains reward center but leave our health in shambles) the worse the food is, the cheaper and more super-abundantly it is available. You don’t need to meet a dealer, show an ID or steal it. Unhealthy, arguably addictive unnatural manufactured foods are everywhere. (Heck, you don’t even have to leave your car if you don’t want to!)

  2. Thanks guys and thanks for posting this Mark! It’s been awhile since I’ve seen that pic. It’s a really nice reminder of how far I’ve come! The funny thing is, the pants I’m wearing under the giant ones would fall off now. I’m even smaller! How’s that for incentive to keep on the CF/Paleo bandwagon?? Three years and going strong!! Couldn’t have done it without the support of Mark and Sarah and all my peeps… and btw, all you newbies have it easy now as compared to what they made me do my first few weeks. Just had to say it:)

    Mark, thanks for posting these videos. For me I can steer clear of the gluten but I tend to turn a blind eye to sugar when I want it. This gives me something to think about. Great post!
