Olympic weightlifting is comprised of two lifts, the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. These lifts test for explosive and functional strength, while taking the whole body through its maximum range of motion. The Oly lifts are technical, dynamic, and fast.
Crossft teaches that in order for ones fitness to be all inclusive, we must train the ten general skills: cardiovascular respiratory/endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
Our task is to train these skills. Olympic lifts train all ten of these skills. The primary skills are strength, flexibility, power, speed, balance, and coordination, but still train all ten. These lifts are unique in their ability to create neurological and muscular adaptation. “They train athletes to effectively activate more muscle fibers more rapidly than through any other modality of training.
