    I guess my comment is about the statement “fixing the diet for everybody.” I question how we can fix the diet for everybody when the doctors and nutritionist as well as the food companies promote the low fat high carb diets. I know for myself what paleo has done for me. But I was on the same train. Worked out, ate what I thought I was supposed to and got heavier and heavier. I always tell people you don’t have to believe what I say you can just look at what I have done. Is it enough? When will more doctors and people start standing up to the food companies to change the information. Look at the money Montasano is pumping into keeping the information about how gmo’s and round up is poisoning our country and the world. Okay, I will get off the soap box. This just really gets me going…

    Last time I checked it was a free country! How about some personal accountability! Nobody is forcing anyone to eat poorly. It is a personal choice many make. Eat a healthy well balanced diet! Burn more calories than you take in each day and the weight will magically fall off! Guaranteed. Kurt M

    There are various reasons I ended up overweight. Once trying to get healthy though, well, there was too much information out there and most of it misleading. I did the South Beach Diet for a few years on the advice of my physician (yes, I ate whole wheat bread and low fat because that’s what I *thought* was healthy, that’s what the books I read at the time told me was “healthy”). They know what they’re talking about right? They take nutrition classes right? Oh, they don’t?!?! But see, who knows that? And until you as a patient and a consumer begin to ask the questions then you won’t get the answers or change that is needed. Yes, I take personal accountability for almost reaching 300 lbs AND for no longer listening to my physician about nutrition and looking for something that actually worked (thank you Liz, Mark, and Sarah!). People need help finding their way to Paleo and a healthy lifestyle. I will help any of those who want to be shown the way.

    Love it Annmarie! You are my hero! Education about nutritional truth is almost non-existent in this country. But the truth is like a beachball under water-it takes a lot of energy for it to be held under, and it will surface.
